Meet Duang Jan The Moonlit Beauty

Duang Jan, whose name means “Moon,” perfectly embodies the gentle glow and charm of her namesake. At 32 years old, this beautiful elephant has a chubby face and body that remind us of the soft roundness of the moon, a reflection of her loving nature.

Rescued from a riding camp in 2018, Duang Jan embarked on a new journey with us, leaving behind a life that was far from ideal. Since then, she has flourished in our sanctuary, becoming a beloved member of our elephant family.

Duang Jan’s personality is as radiant as the moonlight. She is known for her friendliness and politeness, easily getting along with all her fellow elephants. What’s more, her gentle demeanor makes her a favorite among our sanctuary staff and visitors alike. 

One of Duang Jan’s favorite activities is sliding down the grassy slopes, especially when it rains! Watching her play is a heartwarming sight, bringing joy to everyone around her.
